Part of the Niccolo Hotels portfolio, The Murray is the latest addition to the former Crown Colony’s array of luxury hotels and is located in one of the most iconic locations in the territory: Cotton Tree Drive in the heart of Hong Kong Central. Originally built in 1969 as the city’s largest government-owned structure, The Murray was put up for sale in 2013 as part of the Conserving Central Project, an initiative aimed at preserving the heritage of Hong Kong’s famed central business district.
Today, following an extensive makeover by internationally renowned British design studio Foster + Partners, the 25-storey hotel boasts 336 exquisitely furnished suites and guestrooms, five dining establishments, and what may well be Hong Kong’s most desirable events space on its rooftop. While thoroughly modernised within, Foster + Partners has retained The Murray’s iconic façade with its characteristic white arches, giving it a retro feel.
