Water is a watch’s mortal enemy, but in 2012 HYT co-founder Patrick Berdoz decided that he was going to use liquid to indicate time. The concept itself wasn’t groundbreaking—the first water clocks were used thousands of years ago—but nobody had figured out how to create one that was wristsize. Fast-forward to today, and HYT has incorporated fluid into its mechanics. The brand’s latest novelty, the H0 Black Fluid, uses an orange liquid in conjunction with SuperLuminova to display the time. It looks particularly cool against the watch’s all-black dial.
