Bakit mahalaga ang sex sa pagsasama

- Rica Cruz

Dear Ms. Rica, Question: If someone in a couple is diagnosed infertile, is it still important for the couple to still have sex? Kailangan pa po ba un? Hoping for your answer, P

Hi P,

Thank you for such an interesting question. Because we were conditioned to think that sex is mainly for procreation, some people believe that sex is not necessary at all if you have no plans of having a baby.

BUT. BUT. BUT, let me counter that by saying that sex is also about the pleasure that you get from intimately connecting with someone. Hindi lang po pang gawa ng baby ang sex. Madami pa po itong pwedeng ibigay sa iyo at sa iyong pagsasama:

1. Keeps the connection – Sex can bring you closer to your partner not just physically, but also emotionally. Di ba, there are times when you feel so in love after sex? Yup. The intimacy and chemistry you share in the bedroom can improve the closeness that you feel for each other. Usually, when a couple does not have sex, they become distant from each other and problems start to arise. Hence, you need sex to keep that fire alive.

2. Takes care of stress – You know that feeling when there’s just so much going on and you get so stressed, you don’t know what do anymore? That’s the time to have bring on the sexy time. Sex releases a feel-good chemical in the brain, which reduces stress levels. So if you want to be happy, then take off your undies and destress one another. Pampawala ng stress ang sex!

3. Helps you be healthy – Sex also helps in your overall health. It can make you more flexible, especially when you try out those sexy positions! Para rin siyang vitamins, it helps in boosting your metabolism and your immune system to fight ageing! Pampabata!

These are just three of the countless reasons why you should continue having sex even if you do not plan to have mini-mes. So to answer your question, yes. Kailangan pa po ang sex kahit na alam niyong hindi kayo magkakaanak.

Sex is a vital part of any relationship. With no sex, problems will come and your relationship will be on the line. Do you want that? I hope not. So, have sex. Keep your relationship intact. Stay in love and have good, satisfying, sex. #takeitfromthesexymind
