The Department of Labor and Employment has said that more than 10,000 job opportunities are available in job and business fairs in Central Luzon on May 1 as part of the 115th Labor Day celebration.

In a statement, the Labor department said 7,575 local and 2,787 overseas employment opportunities are available to jobseekers, particularly fresh graduates, displaced workers, and returning Overseas Filipino Workers.

One-hundred forty three employers and 24 Philippine Overseas Employment Agency accredited recruitment agencies are participating in the job fairs.

According to the DoLE, job vacancies for local employment include production operators, customer service representatives, sales clerks, customer service consultants, retail and sales agents, sewers, cashiers, drivers, and accounting staff.

Overseas employment vacancies include machine operators, welders, housekeepers, domestic helpers, construction workers, automotive mechanics, bakers, baristas, caretakers, drivers, nurses, and waiters and waitresses.

DoLE Regional Director Atty. Ana Dione advised jobseekers to pre-register at the PhilJobNet website http://philjobnet.gov.ph/ or at the nearest PESO in their areas before May 1 to avoid delays during the job fair.

“We advise our jobseekers to pre-register to avoid delays. Come in proper attire and bring multiple copies of your resumes, certificates of employment, transcript of records, clearance, photos, and other pertinent pre-employment documents needed by employers,” Dione said.

The region-wide job and business fairs will be held at SM City Baliuag in Bulacan and SM City Clark and San Fernando City in Pampanga.

Other venues include Metro Town Mall in Tarlac City; Freedom Park Capital Grounds, Cabanatuan City in Nueva Ecija; and Ayala Harbor Point, Subic Freeport Zone, Zambales. (Leslie
