Woman stabbed 15 times

A 42-year-old businesswoman was found dead with 15 stab wounds in different parts of the body inside her bedroom in Parañaque City, Wednesday night.

Police identified the victim as Menchie Modesto of Unit A Verdant, Teoville 3, West Lourdes St., Barangay BF Homes, Paranaque City.

Police are hunting down the suspect identified as Edwin Casa, 35, a resident of 12 Pangako St., Kalumpang, Marikina, City.

According to police, the victim’s body was discovered by her son, Malcolm, at about 7 p.m.

Malcolm told probers that he forcibly opened the bedroom of his mother after he noticed that she did not come out of her room for almost 12 hours.

The police said that based on the CCTV footage taken inside the house of the victim, Casa was seen lying at the kitchen pretending to be sleeping.

Few minutes later, the CCTV recorded that Casa took a kitchen knife, but after sensing someone was going down the stairs, he went back to his sleeping position and waited the person to leave the house.

Police said that suspect was also seen on the CCTV footage checking if there were still other persons around the house before entering the bedroom of Modesto.

Relatives of the victim claimed that the motive behind the killing could be jealousy or it could have something to do with big amount of money borrowed by Casa.
