New Era, QCA still undefeated in women’s tilt
New Era College won by walk over St. Mary’s College to stay unbeaten in Group C, but Quezon City Academy blasted Miriam College to remain clean in Group D of the 18-Under Developmental Division over the weekend in the 30th Women’s Basketball League organized by the Best Center at the Xavier School gym.
The New Era cagebelles thus swept Group C to move into the semi-finals while QCA, which dropped Miriam to its second loss in as many matches via a 54-22 rout, is also assured of advancing into the next round. Highway Hills Integrated Academy claimed its second win in the games at the expense of Philippine Cultural College (0-3), 5O-23, to also put a foot in the semi-finals in the other Group C match of this tournament sponsored by Milo and backed by Chris Sports, Rain or Shine and SKLZ.
Group A winners were School of Holy Spirit (2-1) over Colegio San Agustin-Makati (0-2), 46-25; and St. Scholastica’s Academy-Marikina (2-0) over Immaculate Conception Academy (1-1), 4225.
Assumption College (1-0) defeated Raises Academy (1-1), 24-12, in Group B.
The 13-Under Division saw Chiang Kai Shek College (2-0) clubbing De la Salle-Zobel (0-2), 50-31; an St. Paul College drubbing Miriam, 51-40.
Lone game winners in their divisions were University of Perpetual Help System-Dalta (1-1) over Miriam College (0-2), 58-29, in Group A of the 18-U Competitive; Polytechnic University of the Philippines (2-0) over Taguig City University (0-2), 71-30, in Group A of the 25-Under; and Philippine Women’s University (2-0) over St. Paul College-Quezon City (0-2), in Group B, also of the 25-Under Division.
