2 win ₱1.2-B Ultra Lotto jackpot
Two bettors who placed bets in Legazpi City, Albay and Borongan, Eastern Samar won the record-high ₱1,180,622,508 jackpot in the Ultra Lotto 6/58 draw last Sunday.
Alexander Balutan, PCSO General Manager, said the winning combination was 40-50-37-25-1-45.
Balutan congratulated the two winners of the biggest jackpot to date in the country’s lotto history.
“I would like to congratulate our two lucky winners. The winning tickets were bought from the outlets of Lucky Circle Corp. in SM City Tahao Road, Legazpi City, Albay and Limbauan St., Barangay H, Borongan, Eastern Samar,” Balutan said.
A 20 percent tax will be deducted from the jackpot due to the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion law. The government will get ₱236,124,501.60 while the two winners will receive ₱472, 249,003.20 each.
Balutan said the two winners should bring two valid identification cards when claiming and show the winning ticket to the prize claim section of the Accounting and Budget Department at PCSO headquarters in Mandaluyong City.
After validation, the Treasury Department will hand the winners checks with their names and the amount won. They can now go to the Landbank of the Philippines to encash their checks and open a bank account to keep their money safe.
Balutan reminded the two winners not to become one-day millionaires, saying they should spend their winnings wisely and productively.
“Like what I always say, having a huge money, especially winning millions of pesos can change your outlook in life, lifestyle, and priorities. Mind your priorities. Don’t lose yourself. Keep something for yourself and for your family. Don’t become one-day millionaires. Spend your money wisely,” Balutan said.
