PSC begins strategic planning workshop
The Philippine Sports Commission yesterday started a three-day Strategic Planning Workshop to chart its course for 2019.
PSC Chairman William Ramirez led the first day of the planning session on Monday. He was joined by PSC Commissioners Arnold Agustin, Ramon Fernandez, Celia Kiram and Charles Maxey in leading the prime government sports authority bureau directors, division chiefs, executive assistants, unit heads and project directors plotting down projects, targets and schedules for the coming year.
“We are constantly doing this to evaluate our leadership in Philippine sports, as well as areas where we need to progress to be able to serve the public better,” opened Ramirez in his welcome speech.
One of the major developments the PSC is planning to take for 2019 is the crafting of the national framework for grassroots sports development, that will intensify the talent identification of our athletes, in partnership with the Department of Education, the Department of Interior and Local Government and the National Sports Associations.
“To strengthen the county’s grassroots framework, we will hold a dialogue with the Department of Education by the end of October and with the different national sports associations in November,” added Ramirez.
Acting Planning Division Chief Abigail Marie Rivera said that this particular stratplan session hopes to accomplish a “clear roadmap for grassroots sports and a unified sports calendar.”
