Big surprise
LOCAL singing trio The TNT Boys got a huge surprise meeting their idol, American artist Ariana Grande, appearing as guest on “The Late Late Show with James Corden.”
In James’s introduction, he described the singing trio composed of Francis Concepcion, Mackie Empuerto, and Kiefer Sanchez, “the cutest boy band in the planet.
He added they are among his “absolute favourites” in “The World’s Best,” a talent show he is also hosting.
The British actor-TV host then recalled his first meeting with the TNT Boys.
“My favorite thing about meeting you guys was when you would just perform on the stage and there was a commercial break.
“And I came to meet you, Francis, and you went like this... you came out shaking and then you went, ‘Oh My God! Oh my God!’
“And I was like, I thought, ‘Ugh, I’m huge in the Philippines.’
“And your first words were, ‘You’ve met Ariana Grande.’”
Amid laughter, Francis told James it was only because Ariana is their favorite singer.
James then asked “What is it you love about her?”
Francis answered, “I love Ariana Grande’s voice and I love her attitude.”
James then said, “Well, I got to tell you, sometimes, Ariana Grande, she watches this show, so why don’t you say hi to her.”
Of course, Ariana was already backstage, watching the proceedings from a monitor.
Oblivious, the boys waved to the screen and said hi, before performing “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going.”
It was then that Ariana came out onstage, going on to actually sing with the three.
After the performance, Ariana told them, “I’m obsessed with you guys, you guys are so incredible.”
Francis then asked, “Is this a dream?”
Making as if he was waking himself, Francis slapped his face repeatedly.
James and Ariana then assured him it was for real.
