Empress Schuck
SHOWBIZ denizens are almost always a cautious bunch particularly when discussing personal affairs.
Then again, there are times they are only too willing to open up, answering even the most inane of queries in the name of fun.
That’s exactly what actress Empress Schuck allowed us recently.
Here’s an excerpt:
Hello. It’s nice to know you’re back on TV.
“Thanks! Ako din masaya. I really just want to keep on working. Passion ko ang acting and I want to keep at it.”
So tell us about your new show.
“It’s titled ‘Hiram Na Anak’ and it’s going to air on GMA-7.”
Did you actually sign a contract as exclusive talent for GMA-7?
“No, not exactly. I’m a freelancer.”
Oh. Based on the teaser, “Hiram Na Anak” looks quite the tearjerker.
“Oo nga eh. I hope magustuhan ng mga tao kapag pinalabas na ito on Feb. 25. It’s on a morning slot, right before ‘Eat Bulaga.’”
Could you tell us a bit about your role in the series?
“‘Yung character ko dito, si Dessa, sobrang bigat ng pagdadaanan niya. Mabubuntis siya ng character ni Paolo Contis na hindi niya alam may iba pa palang babae. Mababaliw ako rito. Magiging parang taong grasa. Very challenging siya, actually.”
We’re pretty sure it’s going to eat up a lot of your time.
“Totoo. Grabe ‘yung shooting schedule namin. Kadalasan magdamag.”
So who is taking care of your baby?
“Ah, I have a yaya. Pero siyempre, whenever we have a break sa shooting, hands on pa rin ako sa kanya.”
Does your partner nag at you given your hectic schedule?
“No, very supportive siya. Siguro kasi nagkakilala kami artista na ako so he knows how hard it is sometimes for us, schedulewise.”
Is marriage already in the offing?
“Matagal pa siguro. We don’t want to rush it. Masaya naman kami with how things are ngayon.”
You posed for FHM prior, are you open to doing more
sexy stuff now?
“Oo, kung maganda ang role why not? I’m not saying I don’t have any limitations like, magnunude na ako or anything but I would say mas daring na ako. “Ako talaga sa ngayon, I want to challenge myself pag dating sa acting. I want to do more complicated roles. I want to prove to everyone I could do more than what is typically expected of me.”
