GENERAL SANTOS CITY – Weary of fighting against the government, at least eleven communist guerillas decided to return to the folds of the law in Senator Ninoy Aquino town in Sultan Kudarat.

Senior Supt. Raul Supiter, Sultan Kudarat police director, said the former communist guerillas belong to Guerilla Front 73 of the New People’s Army operating in the provinces of Sultan Kudarat and South Cotabato.

He said the surrenderees led by Ayob Mupak surrendered to military and local officials in Barangay Midtungok, Senator Ninoy Aquino last Monday.

The NPA surrenderees, who are Manobo tribesmen, yielded five M-16 Armalite rifles, two Garand and one AK-47 rifles.

Mupak said their group are already tired of always on the run from the government troops who were hunting them in the mountain lairs.
