DAVAO CITY: The City Government of Davao has terminated three of its employees who tested positive for illegal drugs. Michael Denton Aportadera, City Anti-Drug Abuse Council (CADAC) officer, maintained the three were the only ones who tested positive out of the 1,127 government workers who underwent the mandatory drug testing last month.The mandatory random drug testing was conducted upon the orders of Mayor Sara Duterte, who, together with her brother, Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte, also underwentt­he same. BENGUET: The surprise drug test conducted among the 78strong personnel of the Philippine Drug Enforcemen­t Agency Regional Office - Cordillera Administra­tive Region (PDEARO -CAR) yielded negative results. PDEA Director General Aaron N. Aquino said PDEARO-CAR personnel composed of regional officials, drug enforcemen­t officers (DEOs) and administra­tive/ technical personnel all yielded negative results for illegal drugs. The drug test was conducted in conformity with the drug-free workplace policy of the PDEA. “This is just part of the standard procedure. We want to show that we have the moral ascendancy to lead as prime implemente­rs of the antidrug law and that we are drug-free”, Aquino said. (Chito A. Chavez) DAGUPAN CITY: Combined forces of the Philippine Drug Enforcemen­t Agency Regional Office 1 (PDEA RO1) and the PDEA Cordillera Administra­tive Region, were able to arrest two noted drug personalit­ies in separate operations, Thursday. Arrested in Ilocos Sur was Carlos Ganigan alyas Carlos Gadingan, a member of the Dela Rosa-Toquero Drug Group. He yielded several sachets of shabu. Collared in Bangued, Abra, is 35 years old Raymund Lagundino who was caught with one plastic sachet of shabu valued at ₱1,500.
