‘Salome’ moving away

Tropical storm warning signals have been lifted as tropical storm “Salome” (internatio­nal name “Haikui”) crossed the West Philippine Sea and moving away from the country towards Vietnam, the Philippine Atmospheri­c, Geophysica­l, and Astronomic­al Services Administra­tion said yesterday.

As of 10 a.m. yesterday, Salome was spotted off the coast of Zambales and Bataan or 175 kilometers west of Subic, Zambales.

It has maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph and moving westnorthw­est at 20 kph.

Salome is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibi­lity this morning.
