Village dad shot dead

LUCENA CITY, Quezon – An incumbent village chair died after being shot by an unidentified assailant right in front of his own home, yesterday morning.

Police identified the fatality as 50year-old Eduardo Beriña, also known as Kapitan Paga, village chair of Barangay Ibabang Iyam, here.

According to Senior Superintendent Rhoderick Armamento of Lucena police, Beriña was shot twice on the head by a lone gunman as he stepped out of the gate of his house around 6:45 a.m.

It was learned that Beriña had been receiving death threats prior.
