Brgy exec nab for drugs
CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro – A barangay chairman who was reelected in the last barangay elections was arrested for alleged possession of illegal drugs and gun in Gloria town last Saturday. Senior Superintendent Christopher C. Birung, provincial director of Oriental Mindoro Police Provincial Office (PPO) said the suspect identified as Domingo M. Mortel, barangay chairman of Maragooc, Gloria is listed in the high-value target list of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA). Investigation showed that at about 6:00 a.m. last July 7, a joint team composed of Gloria Municipal Police Station (MPS) led by Chief Inspector Reynaldo C. Domelod, PDEA-MIMAROPA headed by Agent John G . Bugaling and PNP-Maritime Group conducted the search of the suspect’s residence which yielded two pieces plastic sachets containing alleged shabu, one caliber 45 pistol, a magazine and seven live ammo.
