2 men fall in drug sting

A man reportedly included in the drug watchlist and his alleged cohort were arrested Monday night in an entrapment operation in Valenzuela City.

Police identified the suspects as Joel Acibar, 32, and Ronald Soriano, 40, driver, both residents of Valenzuela City.

Acibar was reportedly marked as pusher in Barangay Malinta’s drug watchlist, police said.

Operatives from the city police drug enforcement unit led by Chief Inspector Jowilouie Bilaro conducted a buy-bust operation against Acibar on De Castro Street around 12:30 a.m.

Acibar and Soriano were arrested after they allegedly sold four sachets of suspected shabu worth

₱300 to an undercover cop. Soriano, however, denied his involvement in the illegal drug trade but admitted being a drug user.

The suspects will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
