‘PacMom’ at it again
KUALA LUMPUR – Dionesia Pacquiao, known as Mommy D, the quotable mother of Manny Pacquiao, is at it again.
Here to support the fighting senator’s bid to dethrone World Boxing Association welterweight king Lucas Matthysse of Argentina this Sunday, Mommy D backed her son’s bold bid but cautioned that boxing is hard to predict.
However, Mommy D countered that if there’s one thing that Pacquiao still has and will forever possess, it is that gift of power.
“Malakas ‘yan si Manny,” said Mommy D as she clenched her right fist and bit her lips to prove her point.
Still, she changed her tune when a Manila-based scribe asked about her forecast.
“Mahirap magsabi…lalo na sa boksing,” she said rather calmly.
But then again, Mommy D reminded the interviewer that Pacquiao’s relatives from her mother side is known for being tough and strong.
“Nakuha ni Manny ang pigging malakas yan sa lolo nya, sa aking father,” narrated Mommy D when asked if the eight-division champion inherited it from his father Rosalio.
