LGBA 8-stag derby on today

The race for the Luzon Gamecock Breeders Association (LGBA) Breeder of the Year title starts today with the staging of the 8-stag derby at the Pasay City Cockpit.

The event starts with a 3-stag elims today and on Monday before holding the 5-stag finals on Oct. 6 where the winner will be determined.

Supported by Sagupaan Complexor 3000, the LGBA stag circuit drew more than 600 entries so far.

The frontrunners with 12 points each are Jay Gonzales (Batang Taal KBJ), Biboy Enriquez (Firebird), Honey Yu (King Slasher Honey 88), Nestor Vendivil (Oliver Ohopper 1), Jervy Maglunob and Noel Cosico (Triple J Farms 2).

Those with 11 points are Pete and Mike Buendia (Buenas Dias), Ed Gonzales (EVG 333), Ricky Magtuto/Willard Ty (Camsur Ahluck), Ogie Simon (Ogie Meng Ronald). Cris de Jesus, Mayor Jon Feliciano, LGBA president Nick Crisostomo and RVM, Walter Lacuesta and Rey Tolentino have 10.5 points apiece.
