Jeff Chan set the tone for Rain or Shine, burying four triples in the opening period alone en route to 20 points.

Dior Lowhorn also tallied 20 points as well as 12 rebounds. Paul Lee added 14, while JR Quinahan scored 11 points including the game-winning free throws that handed Rain or Shine (2-1) its second straight win.

Carlo Lastimosa finished with 20 points, JP Erram had 16 markers, Reil Cervantes made 15 and Mike Cortez scored 10 for a balanced Blackwater offense.

Import Eric Dawson collected 14 points and 25 boards, but all of their efforts went for naught as the Elite (1-2) slid to their second defeat.

With Chan catching fire in the first quarter, Rain or Shine zoomed to a 29-21 first quarter lead that it maintained for the rest of the way.

The Elasto Painters grabbed their biggest lead at 13, 65-52, in the third quarter. But Blackwater came back, with Lastimosa fueling an 11-2 run that put the Elite within four, 67-63.

Rain or Shine, however, regained control in the fourth quarter thanks to a 13-6 run that gave the Elasto Painters a 12-point lead, 86-74.

Blackwater didn’t back down, scoring 10 straight points to shave the deficit, 86-84.

But Jericho Cruz sank a corner triple, then Quinahan scored a layup to push Rain or Shine’s lead, 91-84, with 2:04 left.

The Elite had one last run, with Erram and Lastimosa keeping their team within three, 93-90, with 57 seconds left.

But on the next play, Quinahan got fouled from downtown by Dawson in a huge blunder by the import. The Rain or Shine big man sank all three free throws to provide the separation enough for Rain or Shine to nail the win.
