Ride hailing platform, Grab Philippines enters into chauffeured private car service offer in Cebu starting with over a hundred accredited (private car) drivers.

Grab Philippines country head Brian Cu officially opened this sophisticated commuting solution service called "GrabCar" in Cebu at the SM City Seaside.

Banking on the successful entry through Grab Taxi service, Cu expressed confidence that GrabCar option will again revolutionize the private car for-hire service in Cebu.

Cebu is the third city in the Philippines to have a GrabCar service. It is already introduced in Metro Manila and in Bacolod.

The company is currently accepting applications for GrabCar accreditation. Full time drivers Cu said can earn within P50,000 to P60,000 a month, about P20,000 is the estimated average monthly income for part time GrabCar drivers.

"As transportation serves as catalyst toward sustained development and improvement of people's quality of Life, Grab is committed in making transportation readily available to Cebuanos by offering alternatives to existing transport services," said Cu.

This particular service, Cu said works in a fixed charging method using its own algorythmic measure. Fare rate is calculated afront from the time the passenger booked a service.

Backed up with GPS tecnology, GrabCar need not necessarily follow the usual, cingested route. It works by getting around congested roads and hazards, going through the fastest possible way to the drop-off point.

Established four years ago in Malaysia, Grab is southeast asia's leading ride-hailing platform with a driver network of 320 thousand around the region.

It currently offers services in Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam.

The Philippines is one of the fastest markets for Grab services, Cu said.
