CIDG 'asset,' 2 women found dead at airport
TACLOBAN CITY — A reported "asset" of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Region 8, and two of his female companions were found dead inside a black car early yesterday morning near the apron area of the Daniel Z. Romualdez airport in this city.
Police said a written note was found placed on top of one the bodies that read: "Wag ninyo
tularan, pusher ako, Lord patawad." City Police Director Senior Superintendent Rolando Badi, identified two of the victims as Jason Boclatan, the alleged police asset, and his cousin Wing Jecino.
It was believed they were victims of extrajudicial killings. They and the unidentified woman sustained several bullet wounds from a .45-caliber pistol.
However, Badi clarified that the group of Boclatan are in the City Police's watch-list of drug personalities in the city.
"What I know is that Boclatan and Jecino were oftentimes seen visiting Marilou Rosales at the Tacloban City Police lock-up cell. Rosales is facing an illegal drug case, and reports reaching my office indicated that somebody has been handling Boclatan, but I don't have any confirmation about these," said Badi.
Boclatan's live-in partner, 31-year-old Kristine Jackson, in a media interview, said her common-law husband has been part of the CIDG-8's anti-illegal drug operations that caused the arrests of big-time drug personalities in Ormoc City.
Jackson clarified however that Boclatan was not a pusher. "At around 10 p.m. Thursday night, he asked permission from me that he was going to San Jose district (Tacloban) to get something. It was only yesterday morning that I heard from the radio that he was already dead," she said.
Jackson further appealed to the authorities to help her and Boclatan by immediately resolving the case and arresting the killers.
Also Thursday night in this city, another extra-judicial killing took place at Barangay Apitong. The victim was an unidentified man, whose body was dumped in a grassy area in the village.
Police Regional Office-8 acting Regional Director Chief Superintendent Elmer Beltejar condemned the killings, declaring that these should be investigated and for the identification and arrest of the perpetrators.
"I am still waiting for the reports coming from my city director, para malaman natin kung may kaugnayan ba itong mga biktima sa illegal
drugs, " Beltejar said.
