Man learns to play piano after stroke

-

A pensioner has suddenly become able to play the piano after surviving a stroke .

Roy Calloway, 78, had never been able to play any musical instrument until he recovered from the stroke.

He was amazed when he discovered his new talent of being able to tinkle the ivories.

"I played and I couldn't believe it. It just came out naturally and I was in shock," Calloway said.

Roy discovered his new found talent after acquiring a piano from a late friend.

"A friend of mine passed away and he had a piano. He had been in a band and his son asked me to keep the piano as I had the room for it. I sat down next to it to have a look. I just wanted to try and played it. It was just as my friend's son was walking into the room and he asked if I had ever played before and that he didn't know I could play. I told him I couldn't," Calloway explained.
