UC table paddlers fail to defend title in Malaysia

University of Cebu’s table tennis squad faltered in their title retention bid in the 11th Universiti Teknologi Mar (UiTM) International Sports Fiesta in Malaysia.

UC settled for the silver medal after bowing to Thailand, 1-3.

But even if they failed, the Cebuano table paddlers still showcased their wares well as they defeated athletes Brunei Darrusalam, Sri Lanka and host Malaysia.

The UC squad is composed of Dannel Jay Tormis, Val Stephen Jaca and Lemuel Agbon.

After their Malaysia campaign, UC table paddlers will now gear up for a series of tournaments including the Jawad’s Cup, Milo Little Olympics and the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. all scheduled next month. —
