Man run over and killed by truck in Liloan

A 64-year-old man died after he fell off from a motorcycle and was run over by a cargo truck Wednesday along the national highway in Barangay Yati, Liloan town.

The victim was identified as Concordio Mangilaya, a resident of Proper San Vicente, of the same town.

Initial investigat­ion revealed that Mangilaya was driving a motorcycle towards south Wednesday afternoon when he was sideswiped by a cargo truck 25year-old Robert Litardo was driving.

Police Officer 2 Noli Bohol of Liloan Police Station said that due to the impact, Mangilaya lost control of the motorcycle and accidental­ly fell into the road.

As a result, the victim was run over by the cargo truck, specifical­ly his head, causing his immediate death.

Litardo, a native of Sapad, Lanao del Norte and currently residing in Mandaue City, voluntaril­y surrendere­d to the police after the incident.

Today, a complaint for reckless imprudence resulting in homicide will be filed against Litardo before the prosecutor's office, said Bohol.
