It all began in 1979 when a family from Laguna moved to Cebu and the enterprising mother established a carenderia called "Mother Best." The only objective was "makakain lang," or simply to be able to provide the family with three square meals a day. The small eatery served Tagalog dishes like Sinigang, Pancit Palabok, Kare-kare, Pandan Chicken, Puto Bumbong and others.
