Cebu Landmasters captures Division A title in SHAABAA

Daryle Tan churned out 21 points as the Cebu Landmasters swept Gaisano Capital in their best-of-three finals series with a lopsided 82-66 victory in Game 2 to claim the Division A title of the PLDT SME NationAlfredo Gothong 21st Sacred Heart Ateneo Alumni Basketball Athletic Association (SHAABAA) Cup last Wednesday night at the Magis EaglesArena of the Sacred Heart SchoolAteneo de Cebu in Barangay Canduman, Mandaue City.

Moncrief Rogado banged in 15 points and Bradley Bacaltos added 10 for the Cebu Landmasters, who unleashed a sizzling 22-9 run in the second quarter to tear the game apart at the break, 41-26. Gaisano Capital failed to get out of that deep hole until the final buzzer.

Arc Araw-araw led four Gaisano Capital players in double figures with 15 points. Mavi Suiarez and Alphonsus Doyon each scored 12, while Jason Arquizola had 11 in a losing effort.

In the other games, John Paul Cabrera had 20 points and Erwin Ngo chipped in 13 as Dynacast Batch 2001 edged AutoLAB Batch '99, 59-53, in their knockout match to advance into the Division B finals, while Lorenz Yap erupted for 22 points and Noriko Benedicto and Fredrick Quiñanola connived for 27 points as Batch 2004 triumphed over Prince Warehouse Club Batch 2006, 61-55, to settle for third place in Division C.—
