A 30-year-old senior inspector under Police Regional Office-7 filed a blotter report at Mabolo Police Station around 12:36 a.m., Saturday, after his 29-year-old wife, a member of the Bureau of Fire and Protection-7, allegedly punched him multiple times in their house in Barangay Lahug, Cebu City.

Police Officer 2 Renato Baldo, Desk Officer of Mabolo Police Station, said based on the report, the senior inspector claimed that he has observed that his wife keeps receiving text messages while off-duty that led him to question her loyalty.

The inspector also noticed that his wife's cell phone keeps getting text messages even as they were about to sleep at around 11 p.m. last Friday.

Suspicious, the Senior Inspector reportedly took his wife's cellphone to see who was texting her late in the evening but he failed to do so because the phone was protected with a password.

“He wanted to read, (iyaha) gikuha ang cellphone pero naa may password ang phone. Iyaha gi-tago,” Baldo said.

The wife noticed that her husband was awake, and found him fiddling her cell phone. The wife got mad and immediately started punching him in the face and body. “Nasuko ang asawa, mao nanumbag,” Baldo added. The senior inspector suffered a laceration on his left eye.

Baldo said the victim was advised by the police to undergo medical treatment and should file a complaint in their barangay before filing a formal complaint in their office.

Early evening yesterday, the couple reconciled at the barangay hall in Mabolo.
