MANILA — Vice President Leni Rob redo expressed confidence yesterday about her victory in last year’s elections, though she conceded defeat to former Sen. Ferdinand “B ongbong” Marcos, Jr. in the propaganda war on social media.

In an interview with DZMM Teleradyo, Robredo stood by her victory confidently and said that between her and Marcos, the son of the late strongman Ferdinand Marcos, she was the one who did not have the capacity to cheat.

Wala naman akong capacity dumaya,” the vice president said.

A well-financed Marcos lost to Robredo by around 200,000 votes. After Robredo’s proclamation, Marcos camp filed a protest and called for a recount of votes, claiming voting irregularities in 662 poll precincts.

Robredo said that Marcos submitted affidavits covering only 57 voting precincts. This was why her legal team questioned where the affidavits and evidence were for the rest of the 662 precincts.

“So iyong ang tinatanong natin, nasaan ang affidavits para doon sa the rest of the 662.

The vice president insisted that since Marcos was alleging that he had evidence, he should show and present this in court.

Robredo asserted that it was in her interest that this case is solved immediately to finally put to rest questions on her mandate.

She also blamed the Marcos camp for the delays in the resolution of the case, noting that even if it filed the case in July 2016 they filed a motion for the setting of the preliminary conference only in January.
