Senior Police Officer 1 Allan Midel of the Alcoy Police Station said documents and papers in the car show it was registered to the nurse whose identity is being withheld pending investigation.

“Ang usa kay sa hotel, kanang resibo sa hotel nga mi-check-in siya pag April 11 unya pagkuha niya sa sakyanan iyang pangalan, then ang registration sa LTO, kanang OR, certificate of registration, iya man,” Midel said.

Jerryfer Peregrino, 42, and Jose Tavera, 45, from Bato, Leyte, were the ones riding the car when police conducted a checkpoint in Barangay Poblacion, Alcoy. The suspects were arrested after police found a .45 cal. pistol and shabu worth P14,000 from the two.

Police Officer 2 Alejandrino Dayaganon, desk officer of Alcoy, said the two were heading to Boljoon from Cebu City when they were arrested.

Midel said Peregrino was arrested two years ago in Consolacion for a drug-related case but was released after posting bail last March.

Also that month, three nurses assigned to CPDRC were transferred after the Provincial Health Office implemented reorganization change and rotation of nurses in the jail, following a report that a nurse put a room or “kubol” inside the jail for her brother who was a detainee.
