Cop’s brother falls in buy-bust
The brother of a former policeman was arrested and yielded sachets of suspected shabu during a buybust operation last Friday evening in Sitio Barrio Lapok, Barangay Duljo-Fatima, Cebu City.
The police identified the suspect as Rogelio Pogoy Jr., 39, a resident of the barangay.
Pogoy is the brother of policeman Roger Pogoy, a Cebu City Police Office member who was arrested last year for illegal possession of firearms.
Chief Inspector Christopher Navida said they will investigate if the Pogoy brothers are linked to illegal drug activities.
Police seized from Rogelio one large pack, one medium pack and five small packs of suspected shabu, all weighing an estimated 33 grams. The Dangerous Drugs Board valued the amount at P115,500. Also recovered from the suspect was P900 believed to be drug money.
Navida said that Rogelio could dispose of 75 to 100 grams of shabu every week.
He added the suspect was under police monitoring for three weeks before they conducted the buy-bust operation.
