A 47-year-old man was indicted for allegedly raping his 15-year-old daughter thrice and got her pregnant.

The Cebu City Prosecutor’s Office also recommended no bail for his temporary liberty.

Assistant City Prosecutor Jennifer Karen Leyson has found probable cause to hold the accused for trial for three counts of qualified rape despite his denial.

The accused whose name withheld by The FREEMAN allegedly started raping his daughter on February 13, 2016.

The victim, who was also raped by a neighbor when she was still in Grades 3 and 4, alleged that her father first raped her while they were out in the woods to gather firewood.

According to the victim, she acceded when her father asked her to do what their neighbor did to her because she was asked nicely.

She was allegedly warned by her father not to tell anyone, especially her mother, of what had happened between them. The incident was repeated twice until she got pregnant.

The victim tried to protect her father at first because she did not want her parents to fight. However, she was forced to admit when the person she accused of impregnating her had left their neighborhood two years ago.

The victim admitted her ordeal with her father when interviewed by the barangay officials.

The accused denied raping his daughter but the prosecutor’s office gave credence to the testimony of the victim.

"Between the positive identification of (complainant) vis-a-vis the denial of her father, this Office is inclined to sustain the former,” the investigating prosecutor ruled.

Meanwhile, a 52-year-old woman has accused her elder brother of rape. The incident happened in Argao town last Tuesday evening.

“Gikan ning duha sa birthday party sa ilang relative, unya grabe ang ilang pagkahubog,” said Police Officer 3 Erna Solatorio of the Women and Children Protection Desk of Argao Police Station.

The alleged rape was witnessed by the victim’s daughter who reported the incident to the police.

“Sige’g hilak ang biktima pagkabalo niya sa panghitabo the next day,” Solatorio said.

The victim is determined to press charges against her brother.
