The Philippine Military Academy is recruiting new applicants to join the academy.

Members of the Mabalasik Class of 2019 who are in Cebu for a goodwill visit encouraged the students from various schools during their interaction with them yesterday at the University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) campus in Salinas Drive Lahug.

The visiting PMA cadets arrived in Cebu last May 19 for various activities, among them is to recruit applicants. Cebu is their fourth stop after Palawan, Zamboanga, and Davao.

During the youth interaction forum yesterday several students from the Cebu Technological University, University of Cebu, and USPF have expressed interest to join the academy.

Interested applicants must be natural born Filipino citizen, at least 17 to 21 years old, 5 ft in height, and with good moral character.

PMA spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Reynaldo Balido said he is glad about the positive response from the students. Balido said Cebu has always been a good source of PMA cadets.

According to him, Cebu usually has the most number of applicants and passers in the entrance exams.

“Dito sa Cebu kami nakakita ng composite, maraming representative from different schools,” Balido said.

He also talked about the possibility of transferring the venue of the PMA entrance exams in Cebu from Southwestern University to USPF.

USPF's Vice President for Information Communications Technology Lester Gastala welcomed the opportunity to host the entrance exams on August 20, 2017.

“We will coordinate with the PMA if they've see USPF as the best venue for PMA examination then the University is more than happy and willing,” he said.

Interested applicants can personally apply in Baguio or login to www.pma.ph. Applicants can also send their application letter via mail.
