AFPSLAI taps UCPB for loan payouts
The Armed Forces and Police Savings and Loan Association Inc. (AFPSLAI) has tapped UCPB to help facilitate the pay out of the loans it issues to its members through the Bank's U-Remit platform.
Represented by its President and CEO LtGen Virgilio O. Domingo AFP (Ret), the Association signed a memorandum of agreement with the Bank at the UCPB Corporate Offices in Makati City.
"UCPB has shown its commitment to provide excellent service over the years. We're delighted that we have brought this longstanding partnership to a new venture to serve our members better through convenient pay outs," said General Domingo.
"Thank you to our partners in the AFPSLAI. I'm glad they found the Bank capable of handling their requirement," said UCPB president and CEO Higinio O. Macadaeg, Jr.
Through the Bank's U-Remit service, AFPSLAI members can opt to receive their loan proceeds either via over the counter at any UCPB branch nationwide or have it credited to their UCPB or other bank accounts. Given the nationwide deployment of its members, such as soldiers and police officers, AFPSLAI recognized the need of extending its reach of its services, explained Girlie E. Dario, AFPSLAI's head of Cash and Investment Management Division.
"When we sought the help of our partner banks to provide a facility to make it easy for our members to claim their loan proceeds, UCPB was the first to respond by tailor-fitting their system and processes to comply with our requirements," Ms. Dario said.
With the partnership, AFPSLAI members need only to go to any of their 21 branches and 50 extension offices nationwide to file their loan application. Once the application is processed and approved, members may opt to have their loan proceeds released at the UCPB branch near them, or have it credited to their UCPB account or another bank account.
