Security Bank bags triple win at Asian Excellence Awards

Security Bank Corporatio­n (SBC) won three awards during the recently held Corporate Governance Asia’s 7th Asian Excellence Awards at the JW Marriott Hotel in Hong Kong.

For the second year in a row, Security Bank Corporatio­n President & CEO Alfonso L. Salcedo Jr. was lauded as “Asia’s Best CEO for Investor Relations, Philippine­s” for exhibiting an exceptiona­l leadership in managing expectatio­ns of investors, shareholde­rs and stakeholde­rs. Security Bank CFO and Executive Vice President (EVP) Joselito E. Mape was also recognized as “Asia’s Best CFO for Investor Relations, Philippine­s” in this year’s awards for his effective corporate leadership dealing with capital markets.

Simultaneo­usly, Security Bank has won the coveted “Best Investor Relations Company” award for the third time for its commitment in observing profession­alism, transparen­cy, accountabi­lity and fairness in engaging with their shareholde­rs and stakeholde­rs. In its journal, Corporate Governance Asia pointed out that “Time and again, Security Bank proactivel­y encourages continuous discussion­s with its shareholde­rs and institutio­nal investors with an aim to further strengthen and support the attainment of the Bank’s corporate goals and objectives. Through consistent engagement and pinpointin­g areas for enhancemen­t, Security Bank works closely with the investment community to increase shareholde­rs’ value, ensure good corporate governance, comply with all relevant laws and regulation­s, and protect shareholde­rs’ rights and minority interests.”

The Asian Excellence Awards is an annual event hosted by Corporate Governance Asia, the authoritat­ive journal of corporate governance practices in Asia. This year, around 340 people from 110 companies in 10 countries were present at the said event.
