While this is good news, Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center (CPDRC) would have to make do with nothing because it was decided the jail facility would not get even a single cent.

In yesterday's PB session, Cebu Vice Governor Agnes Magpale and members approved on third and final reading Board Member Miguel Magpale's proposed ordinance authorizing Supplemental Budget No. 2 and appropriating the total sum of P111,247,308.87.

Aside from the CPDRC personnel however, not all employees, would get the bonus as the PB set that only the "qualified personnel" who were employed until August 6 and have rendered service at least four months prior to the date would receive the P10,000.

In the middle of the discussion, Board Member Edcel Galeos asked Miguel if the CPDRC personnel would also receive P10,000 each, to which Miguel they “may not.”

Vice Governor Magpale agreed, saying the bonus is given based on the employees' performance.

Governor Hilario Davide III has also expressed dissatisfaction over the performance of the 133 CPDRC employees, following a greyhound operation early this month that resulted to the confiscation of contraband.

Aside from the bonuses, Magpale said the approved supplemental budget will cover expenses for the peace and order program, local assistance fund, the Provincial Administrator's Office, Cebu Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Office (CPADAO), security services, general and janitorial services, and hospital operations.

More than 1, 400 casual and regular employees, including elected officials, are working at the Capitol. Miguel hoped that the bonus will be given within this week.

"Basin tomorrow afternoon (Tuesday afternoon) or Wednesday. Hopefully naa na siya," he said.
