Maintain a positive mind and mood despite all odds

-

I always listen to Barangay RT 99.5's program hosted by Papa Joe and Papa Litoy and also watch it live on Facebook. I find the radio program not only entertaining but also titillating, especially with Papa Joe ‘s humorous way of giving advice to listeners for their personal and other problems in life.

In one episode, Papa Joe exclaimed that problems are part and parcel of life and that he and Pape Litoy are not exempted from it. But despite of their problems – financial, emotional and spiritual – they still have that positive attitude.

I agree with Papa Joe on that point. Accepting that problems are part of life is one way we can have that positive attitude, instead of being overwhelmed and be carried away with the demons of negativity. We should not focus on our problems but on the blessings that God in His kindness and generosity has showered upon us. We should also be steadfast in our prayers and have that strong faith in our hearts that every problem has a solution in store for us.

Tellie Woods of “thinkpositivemag.com" exclaims, “If you are going to conquer your days, you must master the art of positive thinking. Literally creating surroundings and environments where you can thrive mentally, physically and spiritually. It is possible to avoid negativity. It's all about how we respond when life gets aggressive.”

It is in this line that Wood and Mareliza of “https //daringtolive fully website,” point out some tips that would be of great help to retain a positive mind and mood despite all odds. Here they are:

Begin expecting good in life. Expecting good is a form of faith. Faith that things will be well with you no matter the situation. That goodness will follow you all the days of your life. Just as there is power in positive thinking, there is an immense amount of attraction in expectation. Positive thoughts and optimistic expectations can delete doubts and failures. Allow them to develop a renewed spirit and strategies of dealing with limitations that comes our way.

Hang with positive people. Positive people inspire, encourage, and motivate. They are just a joy to be around. The same inspiration when we surround ourselves with good people with great mindsets.

Change your thoughts. Positive thoughts lead to a positive attitude, while negative thoughts lead to a negative attitude. Changing your attitude is as easy as hitting the “pause” button on what you’re thinking and choosing to think different thoughts.

Focus on the good. In order to have a positive attitude, focus on the good. Focus on the good in yourself, the good in your life, and the good in others.

Stop expecting life to be easy. The truth is, life gets tough at times for all of us. It can even be painful. But you’re brave and resourceful, and you can take it. Know that sometimes things won’t be easy, and adopt the attitude that you have what it takes to deal with anything that life throws at you. As one unknown writer said, “When life throws you a lemon, make a lemonade.” That is how to make the best of the negative situations in life. Adopt a more optimistic attitude in the face of adversity.
