At least 60 arrested, close to P2M drugs seized

At least 60 drug personalities were arrested and illegal drugs worth close to P2 million were seized in a combined effort of eleven police stations under the Cebu City Police Office (CPPO) during “One Time Big Time” operations conducted for the period August 14-20.

More than 60 drug personalities, including three high-value targets, were apprehended by police operatives in separate buybust operations.

A total of 158.93 grams of shabu valued at P1,875,374 were seized during the operations.

The City Intelligence Branch (CIB) seized the most quantity of suspected shabu worth of P649,000, while Taboan police seized P623,866 worth of drugs. Talamban police seized P254,152 worth of drugs and Mambaling police confiscated shabu worth P126,024.

In addition, P71,744 worth of suspected shabu was seized by Mabolo police, Fuente police seized some P67,496 worth of drugs, while P67,732 worth of drugs was seized in the port area.

Operatives from Parian Police Station also seized some P2,360 worth of drugs; Carbon police with P4,012; Pardo Police with P3,776; Guadalupe and Puerto Princesa both worth P1,416 each; while the Investigation and Detective Division Branch (IDMB) also seized P944 worth of suspected shabu.

CCPO Director Senior Superintendent Joel Doria said that based on the data, there is a decreasing movement of the demand of illegal drugs compared to their previous operations.

Fifty-seven others were also arrested in relation to various violations such as illegal gambling, illegal possession of firearms and ammunitions, operating suwertres, theft, illegal possession of bladed weapon, and swindling.

Operatives also confiscated 15 illegal gambling machines, a .22 caliber revolver, two units of .45 caliber pistol, and 25 live ammunitions, at least P1, 636.75 cash believed to be proceeds of illegal activities, and assorted drug paraphernalia.

The CCPO has been conducting its “One Time Big Time” operations weekly.
