Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa remains unfazed in their commitment as forerunners in the campaign against illegaldrugs, amidst issues hounding law enforcers.

“Demoralized ang mga police nga na-involved sa issue but i-continue namo ang campaign bisag demoralized na mi. We will not stop our operations but we will do it properly. Tarungon nato nga walay kinabuhi nga masayang,” dela Rosa said.

The PNP has once again got the ire of the public after the recent killing of 17-year-old Kian Lloyd delos Santos, whom the police alleged was a drug courier and resisted arrest in Caloocan City last August 16.

Closed circuit television footage and investigation, however, showed that delos Santos was manhandled by policemen and was shot.

The incident resulted to the relief of the policemen involved, including its station chief, to ensure the impartial results of the investigation.

“It doesn’t mean nga gi-relieve nato sila, guilty na sila. Gi-relieve nato sila in order to give way to a speedy and impartial investigation. Administrative relief,” Dela Rosa said.

He also assured that the organization will continue cleansing its own ranks, as he warned narcopolicemen to stop dealing with illegal drugs and illegal-gambling.

“We are still cleaning our ranks. Bantay lang mo. Kung mga pulis gahi gyud mo ug ulo, buhaton gyud ninyo na ang ilegal nga buhaton, di mo mosunod sa atong standard police operation procedure, violate ninyo ang human rights, then sigurado gyud nga makakaso mo,” dela Rosa said.

Dela Rosa said the president’s drugs watchlist has been updated, where some names were taken out, while there are also some that are added.

“Dagdag bawas in the sense nga ongoing ang validation. Ang gihimo, kining tawhana, wala sa listahan pero na-validate nga namaligya og drugs, ipuno sa watch list,” dela Rosa said.

Moreover, he assured that destabilization plots to oust the president have no basis, as he claimed that the president is one of the leaders who proved to be gallant and attentive to the needs of men in service.

“Kami sa kapolisan nga solid mi behind our president. Kabalo mi sa tibuok natong kinabuhi, karun ra nakabaton og president nga grabe mosuporta sa iyang kapolisan. So unsa man ang among rason para magrebelde,” dela Rosa said.

Also during his visit yesterday, dela Rosa awarded the two of the wounded policeman during antinarcotics operation.

Dela Rosa visited Police Officer 1 Dennis Valiente in the hospital and awarded him with PNP medallion of “Sugatang Magiting” and P200,000.

Valiente was wounded during the police operation in AlaskaMambaling Cebu City last August 7 against a high-value target identified as William Sumalinog.

“Dako kaayo tag kalipay nga si Chief PNP ang mibisita. Giingnan ko niya nga magpakaayo ko kay para buwagon gyod nato ang mga durugista,” said Valiente.

Police Officer 3 Jemmuel Villaflores, the police officer who sustained gunshot wound to his arm during a police operation against the slain narco-police Ryan Quiamco, was also awarded with a Glock 30 gun and a certificate.
