Leodegreco "Greco" Sanchez, son of the late Cebu vice governor Greg Sanchez, was transferred yesterday to the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center.

CPDRC assistant jail warden Audesti Miguel confirmed this yesterday after Greco arrived in their facility around 2:30 p.m.

Also jailed in the same facility are Sanchez's common-law wife Maricel Gregory, and Tuburan farm caretakers Jolbert Jacaba and Glenn Nacion. All of them were previously jailed at the Toledo District Jail.

Sanchez, Gregory, and the two others were arrested by Cebu Provincial Police Office-Provincial Intelligence Branch last July 29 in the farm of Sanchez in Tuburan, Cebu.

Sanchez was arrested through a search warrant issued by Regional Trial Court Judge Jacinto Fajardo of Talisay City for illegal possession of firearms and illegal possession of drug paraphernalia under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Acts of 2002.

Miguel assured that there will be no special treatment for Sanchez, even if he comes from a political family.

"No special treatment. He will be treated equally with the inmates," Miguel said.

Meanwhile, Sanchez's legal counsel Innocencio dela Cerna said they will file a motion to fix bail so he can be released from jail while his court hearing is ongoing.

Prosecutor Liewellyn Bonghanoy of the Provincial Prosecutor' Office found probable cause to indict Sanchez for the offense charged after evaluation the evidence.

“I have conducted the preliminary investigation by furnishing a copy of the complaint together with the supporting documents and requiring him to submit his counter-affidavit. On the basis of the evidence on record, the undersigned finds prima facie case to hold respondent for trial in court,” she earlier said.

She recommended a P40,000 bail for Sanchez’s temporary liberty for the illegal possession of drugs paraphernalia charge and P80,000 for the illegal possession of ammunition charge.
