- —EBV

The Teleperformance AllStars kept their unbeaten record intact but not without passing through some scary moments before fending off the gritty Supportsave Dragons by the slimmest of margins, 78-77, in the Tanduay Athletics CSCC ELeagues for Basketball Season 13 last Sunday at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.

The two protagonists figured in a nip and tuck battle all-game long but the All-Stars held their ground against a tough opposition by the Dragons on the way to stretch their perfect start to 8-0 in the Elite Classic.

Marcos Jungoy III, Rahne Laborte, and Mon Dico figured prominently in the All-Stars' nerve-wracking triumph with 48 points combined.

Niño Belande led four players in double figures with 23 points but still fell short in the end as the Dragons absorbed their fourth loss in nine games.

Still in the Elite group, Jhoneil Geraldizo led a balanced attack with 15 points as the Sykes Pioneers beat the SSI Warriors to the pulp, 89-61, in a battle of winless teams.

Sherwin Anghay, Paul Sanchez, Justine Laborte and Joerico Maneja connived for 46 points as the Pioneers snapped out of their seven-game jinx. The Warriors stayed listless in eight starts.

In the Evo League, Robert Rebaño sparkled with 23 points and nine rebounds as the Tech Mahindra Tech Mighties downed the QBE Generals, 8580, while James Malalay and Japhet Tuazon conspired for 31 points as the Contact Solutions Flying Lemurs overcame the Shearwater Health Crusaders, 57-55.

The Tech Mighties, thus, stayed on top of the heap with a 7-1 win-loss card followed by the Flying Lemurs stand with 7-2 slate. The Generals dropped to 4-4 while the Health Crusaders suffered their sixth defeat against only one win.
