The Lapu-Lapu City government has recently honored four graduates for bringing “honor and prestige” to the city after topping the different licensure examinations this year.

They were Vianca Pearl Amores, Marianito Jesus Del Rio, Brylle Gilbuena, and Nona Casey Baring.

Second degree cousins Amores and Del Rio both ranked first place in the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensure exams last May.

They were recognized by the city government during the awarding of the city's top 26 taxpayers last August.

Mayor Paz Radaza, in her "Report to the Oponganons" last week, said the four young individuals are worthy of emulation.

The graduates, she said, exemplify good citizenship values.

But Radaza said good citizens are not being measured by their rankings in the licensure exams, but by their values and characters.

"To all the students and youths who are here, dili kini nagpasabot nga ang good citizenship mao lang ang pagtop o pag-place sa mga board or licensure exams, usa lamang kini nga paagi," she said.

She urged the youths to also contribute to the city's development and success by following traffic rules, by not throwing their garbage anywhere, and by reporting pressing issues to the city government, among others.

13 years old from Alaska, Mambaling, Cebu City diagnosed with severe Anemia needs financial assistance for her work up. from Tal-ut Valencia, Carcar City diagnosed with Immunodeficiency Syndrome needs financial assistance for his maintenance which is Human Immunoglobulin.

She said the participation and cooperation of the youths are vital for the city's success.

"I am pushing for good citizenship as a partner of good governance. I mean doing your part for the good of the city. I mean contributing something to the city, something that we can be proud of as Oponganons," she said.

"You can always report directly to us. Duola ko ninyo. Ipakita sa akoa ang inyong mga na-obserbahan aron personal nako maatiman inyong mga reklamo," she added.
