Convergys earns share of Elite Classic lead in E-Leagues

Franz Dionne Dysam sparkled with 24 points on top of four rebounds as two-time defending champion Convergys Converters outgunned ePerformax Reds, 92-81, in the Tanduay Athletics CSCC E-Leagues for Basketball Season 13 last Saturday at the Sports Club-Cebu gym.

Aldene Jay Batino chipped in 10 points, eight rebounds and two assists for the Converters, who forged a three-way tie with the Teleperfor­mance All-Stars and Accenture Sharks bit atop the Elite Classic leaderboar­d on identical 8-1 win-loss records.

It was a wire-to-wire victory for the Converters, who were never seriously threatened after cruising to 46-33 lead at halftime.

Robert Gilo finished with 25 points and eight rebounds, Nolan Peña had 15 points, nine rebounds and two assists, while Joey Mari de Guzman notched 12 points, three assists, two steals and as many rebounds but their efforts went in vain as the Reds dropped to 4-5.

In the Evo League, Jade Seno and Albien Jon Cadungog each scored 16 to power The Results Spartans to a 69-59 triumph over the Shearwater Health Crusaders, Perry Niones charted 19 points, seven rebounds and two steals as the Teletech Titans spanked the Author Solutions, Inc. (ASI) Hardbacks, 59-44, while Rainier Dominic Obenza tallied 19 points laced with four rebounds for Dyninno Jets, who escaped past Optum Knights, 62-54

The Spartans now join the Contact Solutions Flying Lemurs at second place with similar 7-2 winloss cards, the Titans improved to 4-5 in a tie with the Knights, while the Jers soared to 5-4 alongside the QBE Generals. The Hardbacks fell to 3-6 while the Crusaders suffered their eight loss with only one win to show.—
