Food chain signs up first endorser

Home-cooked meals will always hold a place in Filipinos’ hearts.

For Sebastian “Baste” Duterte, real indulgence is found in the comfort of a home-cooked spread served with no frills and no pretentions.

This is what established Filipino food chain Tapa King offers; and this is also the reason why they recently signed Baste up as their brand new endorser.

“We’re celebrating our 30th anniversary by introducing someone who completely embodies the way we serve food,” said Tapa King President and CEO Beatrice Magallanes in a press interview. “Baste has authentic Filipino grit, the kind who eats without pretenses. What you see is what you get with him, which is essentially how we are.”

“Pagdating sa pagkain, I’m the type who enjoys what I want, kahit sa’n pa man ‘yan. Wala nang arte-arte. The best for me ‘pag relax lang, when it makes me feel at home. ‘Yun ang gusto ko sa Tapa King – ‘yung parang may lutong-bahay kang mauuwian,” Baste adds.

Joined by his good friends Atty. Alexis Lumbatan, Sboi Malicay, and Sandro Gonzalez, Baste Duterte will remind Filipinos of the real uninhibited indulgence home-cooked food provides. When asked about his favorite, Baste cites Tapa Flakes as his go-to, with its best-tasting original tapa recipe, served with garlic rice, sunny side up egg, and atchara.

Tapa King’s original tapa recipe has been around for years. What began in 1987 as a humble intent to provide classic home-style Pinoy favorites along Gallardo Street in Makati, Tapa King has now grown into a well-known provider of pure meal goodness with over 100 branches from Luzon to Mindanao, four of which are located outside of the Philippines (three in Dubai and one in Singapore).

“Authentic and purely uninhibited, Tapa King offers homecooked indulgence at its finest – the kind that anyone with a healthy appetite will want to come home to,” Beatrice ends.
