TOP CALIBER SPEAKERS AT VABC 2017

A powerhouse cast of speakers has been lined up for the 26thVisayas Area Business Conference (VABC) on September 29 at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino.

Set to share their expertise to the members of the business chambers from the Visayas as well as guests from Luzon and Mindanao are Ambassador Gregory W. Slayton, Cecilio K. Pedro, Chester C. Cokaliong, Jose Ma. A. Concepcion III, Senator Juan Miguel F. Zubiri and Leandro H. Gazmin.

With the theme “Connecting Ideas, Connecting Economies,” the annual regional conference is a brainchild of Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry and hosted by the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Ambassador Slayton is a career diplomat, who served as envoy to Bermuda under Presidents Bush and Obama. He is an author and a distinguished lecturer at Harvard, Stanford, Dartmouth and Beida (Peking University). He was also featured on the cover of Time Magazine for his achievements.

Cecilio K. Pedro is the CEO and President of Lamoiyan Corporation; Vice President of the FilipinoChinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry and a Board Member of PNB.

Multi-awarded businessman Chester C. Cokaliong is the founder, CEO and COO of Cokaliong Shipping Lines, a leader in the Philippine shipping industry and invaluable contributor to maritime industry.

One of the country’s leading business figures, Jose Ma.“Joey’ Concepcion III is currently the Presidential Adviser for Entrepreneurship; Chairman of the Asian Business Advisory Council; Founder of the Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship (GoNegosyo) and President and CEO of RFM Corporation.

As a consultant to the President of the Philippines on Entrepreneurship, Concepcion plays a significant role in synergizing the entrepreneurship thrusts of the country.

Senator Zubiri chairs the Senate Committee on Trade, Commerce and Entrepreneurship and the Committee on Cooperatives in the current 17th Congress. He has sponsored 650 bills that have been into law including more than 20 major laws.

Lastly, VABC 2017 will feature Department of Agriculture Assistant Secretary for Agribusiness Leandro H. Gazmin.

Gazmin currently serves as Head of the Bantay Presyo Technical Committee Central Office. He has consistently held leadership posts in the Special Committees at the Department of Agriculture.

These distinguished speakers will discuss the way forward for greater economic opportunities in the island; impart pertinent trends, issues and business scheme and fortify a stronghold momentum for an inclusive growth to the region.
