CTU-PESO tied with the Batangas State University, each garnering 98 percent besting two other nominees for Best PESO - Educational Institutions Category.

DOLE-7 OIC-Regional Director Cyril L. Ticao in a statement lauded CTU-PESO headed by its manager

Nona Fe Y. Estolas, for doing their best in showcasing their best practices and for eventually bagging the most sought-after national award.

"This is a big feat for Central Visayas. The success of CTU-PESO is also our success and that of all the PESO managers in the Region, who have religiously carried out their tasks and responsibilities as the DOLE's reliable intermediary in providing employment facilitation services to our clients,” Ticao said.

Ticao also lauded the efforts exerted by everyone involved in the endeavor in order to help CTU-PESO in achieving their dream of getting an award.

It can be recalled that CTU-PESO also made it to the roster of national awardees when it was declared as the national winner in 2009 for the same category.

"We fervently hope that CTU-PESO will serve as a role model among all other PESOs in Central Visayas. What is more important is that its best practices will be replicated helping the DOLE bolster the government's policy of providing efficient public employment services,” Ticao said.

CTU has sixteen campuses all over the Province of Cebu and its PESO concentrates mainly on its three core services: referral and placement; labor market information; and career guidance and employment coaching.

DOLE-7 in a statement said that other PESOs in Region 7, who likewise deserved a thumbs up for making it to the finals were PESO-Cebu City or the Department of Manpower Development and Placement (DMDP) under the Highly Urbanized City (HUC) Category; Cebu Province-PESO under the First Class Province Category; and Lilo-an-PESO under the First and Second Class Municipality Category.

Last year, Cebu City-PESO emerged as the national winner of the 2015 National Search for Best PESO under the Highly Urbanized Category.
