Pulpogan clinches Seniors A championship in Alegado Cup
JC Escalona pumped in 24 points while the Moneva twins Russel and Rexon tallied 38 markers in between them as Pulpogan consummated a two-game sweep of Poblacion Oriental in decisive fashion, 99-84, to clinch the Inter-Barangay SeniorsCategoryAtitleof the 7th Mayor Teresa 'Nene' P. Alegado Fiesta Basketball Cup at the Consolacion covered court.
Unlike in the opener of their best-of-three finals series that went down the wire, Pulpogan was dominant this time, never looking back after getting off to a flying 26-17 start.
Poblacion Oriental, which barged into the finals for the first time in eight years, came within striking range after three quarters, 60-66, but Pulpogan closed the match with a 33-24 bang to dish out a 15-point romp.
Escalona, a former star player of the University of the Visayas(UV)BabyLancers,was doubly happy after being crowned as the Finals Most Valuable Player.
The regular season MVP award went to Poblacion Oriental's top gunner Lymuel Malagar.
