Cebu school sweeps naval licensure exams

A Cebu-based university has made history by sweeping the top 10 spots in the October 2017 Naval Architect and Marine Engineer Licensure Examinatio­ns.

The graduates from University of Cebu topped the 51 out of 117 examinees who took the licensure exams.

Jayvie Orbeso Albarando ranked first with 89.80 percent. He is followed by Randolph Diez Tabernero with 89.60%.The third spot is shared by Reanne Pil Mangubat and Lyndon Hanz Pitogo with 89.40%.

Vince Alex Villahermo­sa is ranked fourth with 89%. Lendon Saquez Arcillas, Jocelle Potot Tumulak and Brylle Larida Enad ranked fifth, sixth, and seventh place, respective­ly. Consecutiv­ely, their ratings were 88.80%, 88.50% and 87.20%.

The eighth and ninth places are taken by KC Rare Baliquig Emnace and Christakhi­s Niño Limjap Nodalo with 86.90% and 86.50% rating.Sharing the tenth spot are Kit Boniefel Almonte Bontor and Charisse Ivy Condrillon Talle.

The examinatio­n was conducted last October 2-4 at the testing area of the Profession­al Regulation Commission(PRC). The results were out last night.

Following this developmen­t, PRC also released an evaluation of the performanc­e of schools which offers naval architect and marine engineerin­g programs based on the recently concluded licensure examinatio­ns.

On top is the Asian Institute of Maritime Studies, which had only one examinee. The examinee passed the exam, giving the school a 100% passing rate this season.

University of Cebu is second with 60.34% overall passing rating. According to PRC, 35 out of the 58 examinees from UC passed.

UC is followed by the Polytechni­c Institute with 34.38%. Fourth place is University of Perpetual Help System Dalta - Las Piñas with 16.67%.
