AVRC is a vocational training center operated by the Department of Social Welfare Development (DSWD) that provide services and training to people with physical and social disabilities, physically handicapped, mentally challenged, and other disadvantaged sector.

The center welcomes PWDs who wanted to participate in their various activities.

According to AVRC head Eutilla Tahanlangit, strong family support is integral in the PWD’s holistic development.

She then urges the participating families with a PWD member to always show them support because it will surely motivate them to do better.

“Bisitahi, tawagan o pangumustaha sad ninyo sila diri aron madasig sila ug mamahimong malamposon ilahang pag-training,” Tahanlangit said.

Tahanlangit made the emphasis after she saw how happy PWDs were after learning about their families’ presence during their anniversary celebration.

“Here in AVRC, we also teach children or relatives important life skills like proper hygiene, time management, socialization and even Alternative Learning System (ALS) in partnership with the Department of Education,” she said.

She also expressed gratitude to the partners and stakeholders who greatly contributed to the success of their program.
