NBI checks vehicle of ambushed bizman

-

As part of their investigation, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI)7 yesterday conducted a forensic examination of the vehicle driven by businessman Vincent Rojo, who was ambushed by unidentified men Friday last week.

Rojo, 39, a resident of San Agustine Heights in Barangay Tisa, Cebu City, was attacked near his residence from a cockfight derby in Talisay City.

The five alleged attackers were on board two motorcycles and a white sedan.

Dr. Rene Cam, NBI7 medico legal officer, said the forensic examination will determine the number of bullet holes and to possibly recover bullets.

?Recover bullets; determine the number of bullet holes to get the approximate number of bullets fired, the trajectory; and how many weapons used,? he said when asked on the purpose of the examination.

Aside from 18 bullet slugs fired from an M16 rifle from the scene, which the police recovered, Cam said they also recovered a deformed slug in the speedometer of the vehicle in yesterday's forensic examination.

Rojo's Ford Challenger is currently housed inside the NBI7 compound as evidence.

The NBI is also conducting an investigation after Rojo's wife asked for its assistance. The bureau will be coordinating with the Cebu City Police Office in the investigation into the case.
