‘Poor performing’ stations watched

The Cebu Provincial Police Office under the leadership of the newly-appointed provincial director, Senior Superintendent Edgar Alan Okubo, will monitor police stations with average performance or accomplishments.

CPPO Spokesman Superintendent Virgilio Bayon-on said the main focus of the director is to address the possible issues of the stations and to give interventions.

So far, three stations have been monitored in the south; the police stations of Dalaguete, Argao, and Sibonga.

“Dili matawag nga low performance kay unfair pud kay naglihok man ang tagsatagsa ka police stations medyo minus lang ang ilang accomplishment so mao'y gitutukan sa bag-ong Provincial director karon,” said Bayon-on.

Bayon-on said towns in the northern part of Cebu will also be monitored while the crime volume rate of every station was also being observed.

Just recently, CPPO warned the Talisay police they will relieve all policemen if there will be no changes in their performance level.

“This will serve as a warning sa tanan, dapat buhaton nila ang angayang buhaton to address sa mga issues sa ilang tagsa-tagsa ka station,” Bayon-on said.

Meanwhile, the Dalaguete police station will also have a new leadership under Chief Inspector Ronald Aliser, the former Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit chief. Aliser fills the position vacated by Senior Inspector Verniño Noserale.

Bayon-on said that the change of leadership has nothing to do with the performance of the Dalaguete police station, but because Noserale volunteered to reassigned to Lapu-Lapu City.

“Kulang ta og official karon unya timing nga nadissolve ang PDEU maong atong gikuha si Aliser para sa Dalaguete,” said Bayon-on.

Aliser said that to lead Dalaguete is a challenge especially that it is one of the stations being monitored by the CPPO.

“Hagit pud ni siya nako pero atong paningkamotan nga maimprove og i-continue pud ang nasugdan na sa previous leadership. I-innovate para mas mapaanindot pa ang serbisyo,” said Aliser.

He also said that despite the PNP being banned from conducting illegal drug operations, he will still strengthen the monitoring of illegal drug personalities in the town, maintain peace order and enforce more police visibility outside police stations as per the directive of Police Regional Office-7 Director Jose Mario Espino.
